Italian mid-century Dresser with mirror by Vittorio Dassi, 1950s
$7,800.00
Refined and highly distinctive Italian mid-century vanity dresser designed by Vittorio Dassi in the 1950s, an emblematic example of the sophisticated dialogue between architecture, craftsmanship, and material research that defined his work within the Cantù tradition and the production of Dassi Mobili Moderni.
The piece is characterized by a strong horizontal composition, visually lightened by slender black-lacquered metal legs terminating in adjustable brass feet. The structure features a refined interplay of warm wood veneers contrasted with dark linear accents across the drawer fronts, creating a graphic rhythm typical of Dassi’s most elegant designs.
The right side is equipped with a chest of drawers, while the left side presents a long drawer beneath an open compartment, offering both functional storage and visual balance. The vanity is surmounted by a sculptural mirror with softly rounded edges, mounted on refined supports that integrate seamlessly into the architectural composition of the piece, enhancing its presence without overwhelming the structure.
Material contrasts play a central role: warm wood tones, dark lacquered details, brass elements, glass, and mirror surfaces are combined with remarkable precision, resulting in a design that is both decorative and rigorously modern.
All wooden surfaces have been recently polished using traditional shellac, enhancing the depth and grain of the wood. The vanity dresser is presented in very good vintage condition, as shown in the photographs, with only minimal signs of age consistent with careful use. It is fully functional and ready for immediate placement.
A collector-grade piece of Italian mid-century design, ideal for high-end bedrooms, dressing areas, refined interiors, or curated design projects where authenticity and timeless elegance are paramount.
